Rita at 87-years-old can run further than when she was 27. Rita's on what she calls the "Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light" exercise plan. It's not an exercise plan so much as an excuse to get out of her house, go down to the Y and talk to all the ladies who gather to see her while she runs around the track. She doesn't like the treadmill, too fancy and complicated when there's a perfectly nice indoor track. When she races, the grandkids love to come and cheer her on. Every now and then she can get them to race with her, too. While Rita loves to run with the grandkids, she also loves to run with her friends and afterward go out for a beer together.
